Bees soccer has kicked off their seasons! So far the Boys are 2-6-1 catching wins over Walsh and Stow. “Our season started off with a few losses, but we started to turn it around when we beat one of the best teams in that State (Walsh Jesuit),” says senior, Bobby Johnson. The Lady Bees are 3-5-2 securing wins over Wadsworth, Hudson, and North Olmsted. “Our season could be going better this year, but it is a lot better than last year and we are hoping to get a couple more wins,” says senior, Sadie Lewis.
Boys soccer is led by Captains Jared Ryan and Bobby Johnson. While girls soccer is led by Captains Sadie Lewis, Kendall Barrett, Liane Tichy, and Ana Sunjevaric. There have been many good games this season, but Lewis says, “My favorite game was the Wadsworth game because it was our first win of the season. The energy of the team was unmatched and everyone gave it their all and we played together as one.”
Johnson says, “My favorite game so far was our 2-0 victory against Walsh Jesuit, because it was my first clean sheet of the season and we took down a team no one thought we could beat.”
Players are getting psyched for some upcoming games. “[For one,] the Nordonia game, because I know a lot of people on that team. Also, that game is our senior night, so I am excited to walk out and play,” says senior Liane Tichy.
According to senior Rocky Peddapally and Johnson, they are looking forward to St. Ignatius because they are the reigning state champions. “If we were to beat them, it would be huge for the team and Twinsburg because it’s our Senior Night and I have a couple friends on the team,” says Peddapally.
Both teams have had some tough games this season, but for the Lady Bees there has been one that stuck out. ”Our hardest game was against Stow because we dominated the whole game, and had countless opportunities, but we just couldn’t score. It was a very frustrating game,” says Lewis.
According to Peddapally, the team’s hardest game was against Medina because it was a tough loss after coming off a two game winning streak.
The Lady Bees next few games are Hathaway Brown 9/28 at HB, and Twinsburg 10/ 2 at Twinsburg. For the Boys their next few games are Avon Lake 9/28 at home, and Twinsburg 10/1 at home. Bee sure to come out and support the soccer teams.
