Bees in the hive are all “abuzz” about spring break, which is rapidly approaching from March 25 to April 1. This time of year can be useful for students to invest in spring cleaning, learning a new hobby, or taking this time to catch up on their sleep schedule and relax for the week. Some also plan to recharge by taking off with family or friends to their favorite vacation destinations.
In a survey sent to BBHHS students, a whopping 87.1% of students said they are catching up on their sleep schedules!
67.7% of students say that they just want to hang around with their friends, and 54.8% want to simply just enjoy nature.
Lilah Reasor, junior, touches base by hanging out with her friends and enjoying nature. “I usually like to go on walks or go outside with friends. Depending on how busy I am, I can usually hang out with my friends during the week.”
Some students often go on vacation during this break; around 32.3% of students are taking a trip for their Spring break!
Brooke Bond, freshman, talks about going on vacation. “The last time I went on vacation was about a year ago. We went to New York and got to the top of the Empire State Building, saw Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden, and went to Times Square at night. It was really fun.”
There are other ways to stay active this spring break as well. For example, 6.5% of students are willing to take the break to learn a new hobby!
Abigail Choi, sophomore, is interested in learning about crocheting. “I hope to take up crocheting and I want to get back into reading. Some of my friends can crochet and their creations look really cool.”
Other activities students are doing are simple such as seeing a new movie, (38.7%), going to a concert, (9.7%), and the classic spring cleaning option, (29%).
Whatever students and teachers do this spring break, they should take the time to focus on themselves, relax and to have fun.
