On Saturday March 1, 2025, with a total score of 148.700 at the OHSAA gymnastics state tournament at Hilliard Bradley High School, the Brecksville Broadview Heights Lady Bees extended their winning streak to 22 consecutive state title wins. The Lady Bees won their first state title in 1994, started a streak in 2004, and have continued that streak over two decades into the year 2025. A legacy so impressive, the current team wasn’t even alive when the streak began.

Head Coach, Maria Schneider, inherited this program from her parents, who she says, “built a foundation of excellence, hard work, and passion”. She takes immense pride in carrying this legacy forward. Schneider feels incredibly proud to keep that tradition alive, while also adding her own personal touch to the program.
At last year’s state competition, there was a short period of time before awards, where Schneider and the team weren’t 100% confident their winning streak would continue. They believed they lost the title to Magnificat and had tarnished their record. Going into this season, the Bees remembered this feeling and Schneider reminded them, “Nothing is guaranteed, no matter how much success you’ve had.”
This reminder helped Schneider to emphasize resilience and preparation, even more this season—not just training harder, but training smarter, focusing on details, and staying mentally strong under pressure. This training led them to lots of success by the end of the season, not only as a team, but also individually.

Senior Captain Gianna Ravagnani had a record breaking 2024-2025 season. At the state competition, Ravagnani took home first in the individual floor exercise, which entered her name into a record. That win marked Ravagnani’s fourth individual state title, which makes her one of five Brecksville gymnasts who earned four or more individual state titles in their High School careers. Ravagnani also earned fifth on vault, fifth on bars, and second all around over the weekend.
Ravagnani says, “While individual success is rewarding, nothing compares to the feeling of achieving something together. I always do my best in competition, not just for myself, but for my teammates.”

Senior Captain Avery Butler earned All State Honors over the weekend, and reflects on her and her team’s progress throughout the season. “Winning another year has allowed our team to see how much hard work and dedication it takes to be successful, knowing we were nowhere near our best at the beginning of the season.”
Butler says being a part of this team taught her so much more than just gymnastic skills, she learned to be a leader, how to work hard for the results she wanted, and how to be a part of a team.
Congratulations to our Lady Bees Gymnastics team on their 22nd State Championship in a row. Your hard work and dedication to excellence is undeniable and incredibly impressive.
