Get ready for the ultimate showdown! Class Clash is an exciting and action-packed junior and senior field day that will bring students together for a day of friendly competition and team spirit. Filled with a variety of fun activities, this event will encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and class comradery.
The field day fundraiser on April 22, will cost $5 to participate. The money raised is hoped to go to student government classes of 25-26. There will be a variety of activities going on in different places such as the football field and surrounding areas.
Every victory, regardless of the number of members in the game, will gain the class one point. Each class will have a team color to wear to represent their class; seniors will dress in pink and juniors will dress in green. Each team will also have beaded necklaces to signify their team.
Lindsay Tayfel, Executive Project Manager, says, “We have decided to assign each grade a color, and will have people sign up for a plethora of games. As of right now, we have large group games, small group challenges, and partner events.”
Maddy Tayfel, Director of External Affairs, adds, “This will be a color war, so participants should dress casually in athletic clothes, but also should wear something that represents what team they’re on.”
To generate interest, the event is happening the first day back from Easter Break and during the week of prom. It is a fun idea to get people excited about Prom and other fun things happening throughout the week. M. Tayfel, says, “The Class Clash will take place during prom week, so I feel like it’s a good way to hype everyone up and get everyone familiar with each other. The premise is to get everyone together.”
Philip Chermonte, Vice Council Chair, says, “ Field day is a great opportunity to connect with classmates and use teamwork to accomplish goals. It’s a fun way to bring people together. “
Class Clash not only generates excitement, but it brings high schoolers back to the old childhood memories of field days. Nostalgia combined with the overall enthusiasm of the school year coming close to an end, will make this day even more memorable and special.
L. Tayfel says, “I wanted to bring back the joy that we all experienced from field days in elementary school. I think it is a perfect way to end the year and relieve stress before the busy testing season starts. Not to mention, it’s a great way to encourage class-wide camaraderie.”
Chermonte, adds, “We chose to do the field day because it was a huge part of a lot of our childhoods and we thought it would be fun to do as seniors in high school.”
Overall, this event is to foster some excitement and school spirit, while also fundraising for the student council. No matter what class wins, everyone walks away with a memorable and enjoyable experience.
