Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and staff and students at BBHHS have some exciting things planned. Although Valentine’s Day is more of a simple holiday, there’s always fun and unique ways to spend time with loved ones. Here are some ways BBHHS celebrates Valentine’s Day and how others can too!
Truly anything can be done for this holiday, it is all about what each person makes of it. Some participate in more simple activities, but there are so many more interesting things that can be done. It’s a great reason to try something new like going ice skating, tobogganing, skiing, taking a pottery class, hosting a movie marathon, or simply going shopping. Even though many people think this holiday requires a more romantic activity, it’s an excuse to do whatever the heart desires.
Many people enjoy hanging out with their friends for Valentine’s Day. Some groups of girls get together and host a “Galentine’s.” During this time with friends, some people make sweet treats, exchange gifts, watch movies, or just hang out with each other. Forty-one students respond to a survey and 12 of them say they will be spending this holiday with their friends.
Going out for dinner is an easy way to celebrate this holiday. Whether it’s for a date or with friends and family, it allows people to spend time with one another in a relaxing way, while also getting to enjoy delicious food. According to the survey, 10 respondents say they usually go out for dinner or plan on doing it this year.
Some people may also prefer being alone on Valentine’s Day if the holiday doesn’t really interest them. A handful of respondents mentioned that they will not be doing anything special for the holiday. If choosing to spend this time alone, make it quality time by treating yourself to candy or ice cream, watching a movie or reading a book, and just taking some time to yourself.
This holiday is all about love, so spend it doing something you really enjoy. Whether it’s with a group of people, with your family, or by yourself, it does not matter. All that matters is that you are doing something you truly love.
