As we step into 2025, a fresh wave of trends promises to shape the way we dress, live, and interact with the world. Let’s dive into some of the most anticipated movements that could define the year ahead.
To start off with fashion, Frank Yin, a senior at BBHHS predicted, “There is still going to be a lot of animal print in 2025.” This classic pattern, which has seen a resurgence in recent years, appears to be here to stay. Yin also believes that the sporty aesthetic will maintain its stronghold, saying, “I think there will be a continued trend of sportswear for 2025.” Expect to see more functional yet fashionable outfits featuring sleek leggings, performance fabrics, and stylish sneakers.

Lena Yaussy, a junior, predicts a softer color palette: “People are going to be wearing a lot of pastel colors.” Think muted hues like blush pinks, pale yellows, and baby blues dominating wardrobes.
“The biggest trend is going to be camo for 2025,” said Veronica Marita, a senior, highlighting a style that’s made a comeback in recent months. Whether in neutral tones or bright reimaginings, camo could become a versatile staple.
Morgan Szwagulak, a freshman, predicts a wide range of exciting possibilities for 2025. “Retro and vintage fashion,” including ‘90s-inspired styles, are likely to make a major impact. She also expects colors like lavender and green to take center stage, alongside trends like matching sets and Y2K-inspired designs.
Szwagulak also believes technological advancements will further integrate with fashion, saying, “I think new technology will help connect people in more ways, and we will start to see more wearable tech.”
Marita also shared her thoughts on a major societal and technological shift: “The TikTok ban will have a huge impact on society.” With one of the largest social media platforms potentially being unavailable in the start of 2025, fashion influencers might shift to other platforms, possibly influencing trends in new ways.
Sustainability will be more than a buzzword in 2025; it will be a necessity. Consumers are increasingly prioritizing eco-friendly options, pushing brands to adopt sustainable practices. Biodegradable packaging, upcycled materials, and carbon-neutral products will become standard. Szwagulak noted that sustainability will continue to play a key role in fashion: “I think a lot of brands will also start to focus more on eco-friendly packaging and recycled materials.”
The trend of “hitting pan” has become a New Year’s resolution on TikTok. “Hitting pan” is a challenge to finish up your beauty products, so you hit “the pan.” The main goal of this project is to shift the focus on what we already own instead of constantly purchasing and trying out new things. This helps to limit waste and puts a focus on being environmentally friendly.

Reflecting on the past year, Marita added that “get ready with me” (GRWM) content will remain a major cultural moment, allowing individuals to share personal styles and daily routines.
Yaussy pointed out a surprising trend: “The biggest trend in 2024 was the Costco guys.” For those unfamiliar, the “Costco guys” phenomenon refers to a dad and his son who repeatedly went to Costco and had their food. Even with the TikTok ban, Yaussy believes that the Costco guys will continue to entertain on other platforms.
2025 promises to be a year of innovation and reflection. Whether through bold prints and pastel colors, or the unwavering commitment to sustainability, the trends of 2025 will push us to rethink how we live and interact with the world. The future isn’t just coming; it’s already here, shaping our choices and aspirations in real time.
