Bees Gymnastics is heading into the 2024-2025 season! With lots of practice and hard work, they are striving to continue their legacy.
Maria Schneider is the head coach and she is dedicated to the sport and the team. She says, “When I was in 8th grade I started helping at my family’s business, but I did not start coaching the team until 1996 after I graduated from college and got my first teaching job with the district.”
Many of these gymnasts have been doing this sport from a very young age, and they’ve been continuing to work hard ever since. Now they are practicing 3-5 times a week for up to 4 hours a day.
These athletes are committed to this sport, making goals for themselves and the team as a whole. Senior Gianna Ravagnani says, “My goals for this season are to qualify for states both as a team and individually. I plan to achieve my goals by working hard everyday at practice and supporting my teammates so we can all perform our best.”
Gymnastics has had a great effect on many of these girls. Senior Avery Butler says, “Gymnastics has really shaped me into a hardworking and confident individual. It’s taught me how to work through mental and physical challenges and has taught me how to be confident in myself when competing.”
This program provides so many opportunities for these girls. They are constantly successful and creating new memories with each other. Senior Ava Audino says, “The best part about being on this team is just the environment of gymnastics. Being able to practice and compete with my friends who all love gymnastics is so much fun. Even when I am not competing, I always feel like I have a role as a teammate, whether it is to move mats for the girls competing or cheering them on.”
All 3 gymnasts said that their favorite memory was winning states last year or in years past! It was an amazing feeling for them and created so much positive energy.
This team has big shoes to fill each and every season for the past 21 years, working to win their 22nd consecutive state title this year. With the immense amount of support that they always bring to one another, the team will have yet another successful season!
