Get ready for a night under the stars! The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School student government is turning the gold lot into a drive-in theater, inviting families and friends for a night of cinematic enjoyment. The event is featuring 2 popular films that cater to all ages.
The drive-in movie fundraiser on November 8 will feature 2 movies (which are to be determined) at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.. The tickets cost $12 per car and are general admission so parking spots in the front are first come first serve. This is a fundraising event for the student government, so all students will benefit from the money raised in this event.
Philip Packard, Student Body President, says, “A portion of proceeds will benefit LLS, and the other money will go to other student government events and opportunities. Like our upcoming senior lounge renovation!”
Braily Collard, Council Chair, says, “The money from the fundraiser will go to the student government, which gets used to do more events like this, but it also goes towards the students!”
In order to make this an enjoyable evening for the community, Packard says the event is accessible to everyone. He says “Being able to stay in the car makes the event more accessible for everyone in the community, young and old. Additionally, having two showings is targeted to provide our younger kids with an earlier show time and our older kids with a later show time.”
Collard adds, “We are showing 2 movies at 2 different times to make sure we are accommodating our younger community members and our older community members!”
Philip Chermonte, Vice Council Chair, also says, “People will buy parking spots in the gold lot and park their cars there for the movie. They can bring friends, food, and blankets in order to make the event as enjoyable as possible.”
This drive-in movie event is to bring the community together, while also raising money for the school. Student government is excited about this event and can answer any questions!
