Stephanie Buda in science, and Zachary Kunz, in math, are among some of the new teachers here at BBHHS this school year. Many teachers retired last school year, giving these 2 teachers as well as others a new opportunity to embark on a new journey with a National Blue Ribbon School.
Stephanie Buda has been teaching for 5 years and this will be her 6th. She teaches academic physical science and academic chemistry with grade levels ranging from freshmen to seniors. Before coming to BBHHS, she taught at Cleveland Heights High School.
Buda decided to become a teacher because she loves helping other people and she loves science! Since being at BBHHS, Buda says, “I am so thankful to be at BBHHS because of the intentionality and commitment of the staff and community. Everyone has been so welcoming.” She also says that even though being a new teacher can come with adjustments, she has still had an extremely positive experience.
In addition to Buda, Zachary Kunz is new to the math department. He teaches Algebra I and Academic Geometry with grade levels ranging from freshmen to sophomores. This will be his second year teaching, and he taught at Saint Vincent Saint Mary High School prior to being at BBHHS.
He decided to become a teacher after being a data analyst at a law firm in Cleveland. He soon realized that he wanted a job that would allow him to interact and help others. He says he decided to come to BBHHS because of its “great reputation, great students, great facility, and great administration.” Although this is only his first year teaching here, he says that he feels just like one of the other teachers thanks to the welcoming and respectful atmosphere.
These teachers have only been here for a short period of time, but they have had plenty of positive experiences with students and staff. BBHHS looks forward to what these teachers have in store for their students and hopes to continue creating an exceptional environment.
