The BBHHS’s basketball teams continue to shoot for the win! As their seasons come to a close, the Lady Bees have a record of 16-6, and the Boy’s Basketball team has a whopping record of 16-1!
The Lady Bees last regular season game was the senior night game on Wednesday, February 12. The Lady Bees won by a landslide of 58 to 20 against Hoover. Senior Kaitlyn Kuscevic was featured as the only senior for the team this year.
Kuscevic states, “This season has thrown me a lot of challenges. I sprained my ankle in our first game and went through weeks of recovery. After that, I was able to bounce back, and I’m very happy to be back on the court. I’m excited to finish out my senior season strong, and hopefully go far in the tournament.“
The Lady Bees are now 4th in the conference. Make sure to not miss their first playoff game on February 22 against the winner of Chardon vs. John Hay.
The boys basketball team also has great showings for their season this year.
Mr. Maslona, the athletic director of BBHHS notes one of the biggest accomplishments for this team this year. “The Boys’ Basketball team recently played North Royalton, and were able to claim the title of Suburban League-National Conference Champions with a score of 44-41.”
One of the most notable games each year for the boys is the St. Eds game. This intense rivalry between the Bees and the Eagles creates a great game that many people love to attend.
This game was played on Tuesday, February 13. The Bees lost with a score of 65 to 74, but the boys still put up a fight and played competitively.
The boys are first in the conference, and as they end their season, their first playoff game will be on March 2 at home. The court will be alive and the crowd is sure to be geared up for a win.
Both teams have tough competition coming up, so bee sure to come support both of the teams as they begin their playoff seasons.
