Broadview Heights Police Shop with a Cop program is scheduled for December 9, 2023 and will take place at the Broadview Heights Recreational Center starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m.
Officers Jose Garcia and Kevin Pozek are soliciting volunteers to come out and help shop with kids participating in the program. They also are in need of volunteers to do other things like help wrap presents after the shopping is done.
The day will start with donuts, bagels, coffee, and juices with the kids and will conclude with a pizza party. They are in need of both students and adults to help them serve the kids and possibly pick up some orders while they are shopping.
If anyone has partial rolls of wrapping paper or rolls of tape they would like to donate for wrapping the kids’ presents that day, they’d appreciate it. Bring these items to school and take them to Garcia’s office at the middle school or Pozek’s office at the high school.
Broadview Heights and Seven Hills Police Department team up this program with the great help of Meijers Stores. The partnership has been strong for three years now. Meijers donates $3,000 in gift cards to share with those kids who participate in the program. The program volunteers have been fortunate enough to raise about $1200 more each year to afford them the ability to take around 20 kids shopping, giving them almost $200 in gift cards to spend each year.
Any help students, teachers, and community members can provide for this awesome program and event is greatly appreciated. See Garcia or Pozek for more information.
