The Drama Club is deep into its fall production of Clue, with set building, actors rehearsing, and costume designing; however, the club is always looking for new hands on deck to make the productions even more spectacular!
Currently, the drama club wants people interested in working spotlights, sound, costumes, props, and set design. Drama club has a place for you and wants you to display your talent using the stage as your creative outlet.
BBHHS’s Drama Club consists of numerous talents and crew members. English teacher Ben Lesh leads the club with the assistance of fellow English teacher Deanna Jordan, and Music teacher Emily Garlock.
“We always need people in front of the house, ushers, ticket takers, ticket sellers, house managers, and people to help people get where they need to be! We need concert help, and it’s not as intense tech as like running a show is!” says club advisor Ben Lesh.
Club supportiveness and attributes are important to the drama club! Each member brings something unique to offer that helps make the production great! Junior Lilah Reasor discusses the atmosphere drama club provides, “It’s fun, and it’s a really comfortable environment, pretty judge-free!” Reasor has been in the performances of Songs of The Pandemic, a Troupe 1260 original music revenue, and Mean Girls.
Sophomore Ryan Sobecks explains how joining a drama club is flexible and entertaining. He says, “There’s really no reason not to join because you can get a smaller role, which isn’t as time-consuming and it’s just fun!” Sobecks has been in the performance of Mean Girls
Last year, the club produced performances of Mean Girls and The Imaginary Invalid.
Senior Izzy Brashear portrayed “Toinette” in The Imaginary Invalid and this year she has captured the role of Miss Scarlett. Brashear says, “I had so much fun in the show and I’m doing the play again this year! Fall play is my favorite part of the year because it’s typically a small cast, so we all get really close, and I love acting.”
Senior Zoe Galicki played the role of “Lizzie Therman” in Mean Girls, a high school burnout who wears a lot of black.
It was Galicki’s first time doing the musical for the drama club! She says, “I really enjoyed my experience in the musical! I’m so grateful for all the friendships I made from it and all the friendships that continued to grow because of it. I will definitely be participating in the musical this year!”.
As far as the current production of Clue, Junior Alexis Zelinsky advises folks to come to see the hilarious show! She says, “Get a “Clue! Why wouldn’t you want to see it? It’s a childhood board game! [You get to] watch your friends perform it and try to figure out the murder mystery in front of you!” Tickets are on sale now! Buy tickets at “www.purplepass.com/1260clue”.
Don’t hesitate to join the drama club! “Go out on the limb, take the risk! Be curious, come see us! We don’t bite! We like to have fun, we like to get along.” says Lesh.
