The BBHHS girls tennis team is serving up a thrilling season! Each player brings their own unique skills to the court, and together they try to create a supportive atmosphere for this team. As they continue to work hard this season, the team is showing what it means to be united on and off the court.
The Brecksville Broadview Heights girls tennis team has had a great season so far this year! As a team they have had a total of 10 wins and 7 losses. They are 3rd in the conference out of 8 teams. The team’s coaches are Coach Smith for the junior varsity team and Coach Reynolds for the varsity team. There are also 3 team captains, seniors, Jesse Hansen, Sophia Liu, and Corrina Yaun.
Jesse Hansen believes tennis has brought her many important abilities. “Tennis has individually helped me build my confidence and test my mental strength,” said Hansen. She also believes tennis has brought her some of her closest friends.
“Tennis changed my mindset and the way I think,” says senior Sofia Camur.
Coach Smith likes many things about coaching the junior varsity team. She says, “I just like the girls’ personalities. With so many girls, you get a lot of different personalities.” She also notes that the girls are very hardworking and fun to be around.
An important challenge for these girls isn’t just winning their matches, but also balancing the student and athlete workload. “Balancing being a student and an athlete can be difficult, but I focus on time management personally,” says Camur.
Hansen adds, “In general I just make sure I have a specific time frame set up each night dedicated to studying so I don’t get behind.”
With the season coming close to an end, the lady bees tennis team is continuing to work hard and have fun!
